Partially Blind Center To Work Out For Pistons

Even though the Detroit Pistons missed out on their first round pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, the team still continues to evaluate players for their second round choice -- the 38th pick.
According to the Detroit Free Press, Baylor sophomore center Isaiah Austin is scheduled to work out with the team sometime next week. Interestingly enough, Austin's nickname is "Zeke", but that's not the only intriguing part about him -- he is partially blind.
Austin lost sight in his right eye after an accident while he was a teenager. That didn't stop him from being a consensus top-5 national recruit out of high school.
He also earned All-District and All-Big 12 recognition after recording 11 double-doubles in his freshman season with Baylor, averaging 13.0 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
The 7-foot-1, 225 pound Austin finished sixth in blocks per game (3.26) in NCAA Division I this past season as a sophomore.
With Andre Drummond logging most of the team's minutes at center last season, the Pistons could surely use some depth on the inside. Austin, and his success story, could be a good fit in the Motor City.
