Pair Wanted For Theft Of $1,600 In Liquor From Macomb Kroger [PHOTOS]
MACOMB TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Authorities are looking for help to identify a man and woman suspected of stealing over $1,600 of liquor from a Macomb Township Kroger store.
Macomb County Sheriff's officials say that, at around 10:15 p.m on Tuesday, April 12 around $1,000 worth of booze was taken from the store in the 21000-block of 21 Mile Road.
In that instance, officials said, the man stuffed a backpack and a second receptacle with bottles of liquor, placed them in a shopping cart, and pushed them toward the exit. When he found the doors had been partially closed and locked, he got some help from a woman who pulled up in a silver Ford Mustang.
The woman was able to force the doors open, authorities said, and the pair sped away with the liquor.
The couple is believed to be responsible for a second, similar incident two weeks later. At 9:42 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, sheriff's officials say the same woman wanted in the previous theft was seen on surveillance cameras entering the store with a duffle bag slung over her shoulder. She filled the bag with 16 bottles of liquor and — tag-team style — left it in a cart in the aisle for her male accomplice to pick up.
Sheriff's officials said the thieves once again fled in a silver Ford Mustang; this time with $600 in stolen liquor.
Suspect number one is described as a white male, 25-35 years old and about 5 feet, 7 inches tall with a thin build. The second suspect is described as a white female, 30-40 years of age and 5 feet, 4 inches tall with a medium build.
The car they were driving, sheriff's officials said, was a 2004 Ford Mustang belonging to a 42 year-old Warren woman.
The pair is also believed to be involved in other similar thefts at other Kroger locations. Surveillance photos were released to the media on Monday.
Anyone who can help to identify the subjects or who has any information about these crimes are asked to please call Detective Mark Morfino of the Macomb County Sheriff's Office at 586-307-9358.
