Orchard Lake Road Resurfacing Begins This Summer
FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) - Construction barrels will be out on Orchard Lake Road in Farmington Hills later this year. The Road Commission for Oakland County announced on Friday it will resurface Orchard Lake Road between 13 and 14 Mile roads beginning this summer.
The $1.2 million project wasn't expected to take place until next year, but the road commission agreed to move it up a year because funding became available.
"This project has been a high priority for the Road Commission for some time," stated RCOC Board Chairman Eric Wilson. "We are very pleased that funding became available, and we were able to move the project forward."
The resurfacing will be the final step in re-paving the entire stretch of Orchard Lake between 12 Mile and Lone Pine roads.
The Orchard Lake project is expected to cost approximately $1.2 million, with just over $830,000 paid for with federal funds. The remainder of the cost will be shared by RCOC and the City of Farmington Hills.
It's expected to be completed in the fall.
