Online Job Postings Nearly Double In Metro Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ) -- Online job postings in the nine-county metro Detroit area in the third quarter nearly doubled from the second quarter, according to a report released Monday by the Workforce Intelligence Network.

WIN's report tracks online job postings in Genesee, Shiawassee, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw and Wayne.
The biggest gains were seen in Oakland and Wayne counties, jumping from 20,230 to 40,443 postings in Oakland and from 29,451 to 56,625 in Wayne.
The health care and retail-hospitality sectors saw the largest jump in employer demand, 118 and 117 percent growth respectively.

"Employers are posting at the highest rates we've seen since real-time data have been available, a sign they are looking for more people and more talent," said Lisa Katz, WIN Executive Director. "Overall, continued strong demand in the form of online job postings is good news for the southeast Michigan economy."
The region's top five job postings for the third quarter were retail sales staff (5,858 postings), registered nurses (4,819 postings), application software developers (4,076 postings), sales representatives in wholesale and manufacturing industries (3,875 postings), and first-line supervisors of retail sales staff (3,475 postings).
