One Arrested, Two Sought In Ferndale Burglary
FERNDALE (WWJ) - Police in Ferndale arrested a man suspected of breaking into and stealing items from a garage and are now looking for his two partners in crime.
Police say 18-year-old Brian Faust is expected to be arraigned Wednesday on a charge of breaking and entering, a 10 year felony.
According to investigators, a resident from the 400 block of E. Cambourne reported that several items were stolen from his garage, including a snowblower, air compressor and chain saw.
The resident told police he was away from his home during the day, and when he returned his neighbor told him that people had been in his garage removing items. The neighbor told the resident that two men and a woman were in the garage at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. He asked them what they were doing and the woman allegedly knew the name one of the residents and said she had permission to remove tools to fix a flat tire.
The curious neighbor was temporarily satisfied with the explanation and did not phone the police. However, when the three suspicious people kept removing more items from the garage, the man photographed and videotaped the suspicious activity. He also recorded the license plate of the group's pick-up truck.
When police arrived, they used the information to identify the three suspects. Police then went to a Ferndale house where the truck was registered to Faust, who was arrested on the spot.
Police are now looking for the accomplices: 22-year-old Dieter Buchholz and 20-year-old Jennifer Allor. Police say Faust and Buchholz are both on probation.
