Officials: Teen Spree Included Theft, Cow Shooting
PARMA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Officials say they've caught two teens believed responsible for a crime spree that included shooting a cow, stealing guns and breaking into a library.
MLive.com reports the Jackson County sheriff's department says a 13-year-old Sandstone Township resident and a 14-year-old Parma Township resident are charged in juvenile petitions with breaking and entering, safe breaking and killing and torturing an animal.
Authorities say the teens broke into a branch of the Jackson District Library on June 18 in Parma Township. Cash and electronics were taken, and books were scattered throughout the library. Authorities say they also stole two rifles from a barn.
On Sept. 10, authorities say the teens stole a safe from the library as well as a shotgun from a farm, then shot the cow several times.
