Off-Duty Officer's Shooting Death Ruled Suicide
DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - The death of an off-duty Detroit police officer whose body was found inside his car has been ruled a suicide.
The Wayne County medical examiner's office has found Theron White died of a gunshot wound to the head.
The 38-year-old officer was driving on Tireman when his SUV crashed into a church. Police arriving on the scene Monday night discovered that he had been
shot in the head.
White was taken to Henry Ford Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police Chief Ralph Godbee said at the time that investigators had no evidence the gunshot came from outside the vehicle.
