Ocean, Great Lakes-Themed Film Festival Returns To Michigan
ALPENA, Mich. (AP) - A film festival focusing on ocean and Great Lakes issues returns to Michigan's northeast Lower Peninsula.
The five-day Thunder Bay International Film Festival is gearing up for the third installment in Alpena. It kicks off Wednesday at the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center.
More than 30 films are expected to be shown, from two minutes long to feature-length. The screenings will be augmented by a workshop and opportunities to meet filmmakers.
Films include those from the San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival.
The festival is presented by the Friends of Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary. The sanctuary is one of 14 in the U.S. and the only one in fresh water.
