Oakland University Debuts 'Blacktop' Court [PHOTO]

Oakland University held a voting contest to elect the design of their new basketball court.
The contest debuted in August and allowed anyone to vote for one of three court designs. The winning court was announced in February during halftime of the Oakland vs Detroit game at the O'Rena.
The people decided that the "blacktop" court was the coolest look.
It's now almost done being installed. Longtime Oakland head basketball coach Greg Kampe tweeted out a photo of it yesterday.
The majority of the court has a black asphalt look and features the Golden Grizzly logo in centercourt.
The "playground" feel is what Kampe's goal is. He also admitted to trying to get the nets colored black or grey like chain-link lets, but there is an NCAA rule that prohibits it.
The out-of-bounds lines will be white, and the blue in the photo is painter's tape.
This is certainly a unique court design that set's Oakland apart from other mid-major schools. Since the O'Rena opened in 1998, the Golden Grizzlies have a home record of 69-14.
