Oakland County Roads Worker Killed On The Job
MILFORD (WWJ) - An employee with the Road Commission for Oakland County was killed while on the job in Milford Township Tuesday, according to police.
Police say they received a 911 call around 1:30 p.m. from a passing motorist who reported an overturned county road commission truck near the intersection of Pearson and Hickory Ridge roads.
When officers arrived, they extracted the 58-year-old driver who was entrapped in the cab of the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the man was on a job, putting down material on the road when the accident occurred, but it's not clear why or how the truck flipped over.
The driver is a long-serving veteran of the Road Commission for Oakland County, although his identity is being withheld pending notification of family members.
No other cars were involved nor injures reported.
An investigation is ongoing.
