Oakland County Law Enforcement Officers Demonstrate School Shooter Training
It was an exercise that was meant to mirror the tragedy seen in places like Sandy Hook, Columbine or dozens of other American cities. Members of Oakland County's Oak/Tac Tactical Response Team -- conducting a public training session in Pontiac's recently closed Jefferson Middle School -- preparing for the unthinkable.
"We hope and pray we never have to use this training and this practice but we do it because there's a possibility." A possibility Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard admits is extremely remote. To date, 400 officers from 27 agencies throughout the county have been trained in tactical response techniques as part of a federal grant.
"You can never anticipate everything, but you have to try to think what could happen and try to prepare and train for it." said Bouchard.
