Oakland County Improves Online Registration For Flu Vaccine
PONTIAC -- Oakland County Health Division has launched its improved online flu vaccination registration system at www.oakgov.com/health.
Residents are able to pick a location, date, and time of their flu shot. They can also pre-pay online or choose to pay cash at the time of the appointment. Flu vaccination clinic registration begins today.
"Our online flu vaccination registration system has improved and is much more user-friendly," said Kathy Forzley, OCHD manager and health officer. "Our goal is to keep people healthy. An annual flu vaccination helps to reduce the chance of getting the flu. We believe the easier it is to register, the more people that will sign up."
Flu vaccinations will begin Tuesday, Sept. 25. at OCHD offices at 1200 N. Telegraph Road, Building 34 East in Pontiac and 27725 Greenfield Road in Southfield. Hours are noon to 8 p.m. Mondays; and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays. Flu vaccinations cost $16.
In addition, outreach clinics will be held at the following locations:
* Walled Lake Community Center: Oct. 9, 3 to 7 p.m. and Nov. 2, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
* Troy Civic Center: Oct. 16, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
