NYC Man Reported Missing During Detroit Trip
DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - Police say a 58-year-old New York City man who was reported missing during a visit to Detroit for a convention crossed the border into Canada and hasn't returned.
Detroit police said in a statement Wednesday night that Michael Treder's family was expecting him home March 16. The department began investigating the disappearance and said it determined that Treder went into Canada but as of Wednesday hadn't crossed back into the United States.
Detroit police said Canadian authorities were also working to find Treder.
Mary Treder told WJBK-TV that her brother's disappearance is worrying the whole family. She said he was staying at a Detroit hotel, where his belongings were found.
Treder reportedly traveled to Detroit for the 55th Annual Science and Engineering Fair of Metro Detroit.
