NP Aerospace Moves Into New Office
NP Aerospace Inc., the United States subsidiary of the British advanced composite armor company, is moving in June 1 to the new offices of the Defense Corridor Center for Collaboration and Synergy in Sterling Heights.
The DC3S includes a media center with amphitheater-style seating for 48, a large display area and multipurpose rooms. The DC3S, at 7205 Sterling Ponds Court, already houses personnel from TACOM and Automation Alley.
"The reason we established NP Aerospace Inc. in the (United) States in October was to allow us to share technologies to build advanced composite armor systems in the U.S.," said Donald Bray, business director at NP Aerospace Inc. "Our materials are stronger and lighter than other armor systems and have been battle tested in Iraq and Afghanistan with the British Army. We have brought this state-of-the-art technology to the U.S. to help create and build the next generation of lightweight advanced armor systems for tactical vehicles and personnel. This new location in Sterling Heights will enhance our activities in Michigan's Defense Corridor."
With a clear focus on delivery to the front line and constant technical innovation at the core of its business, NP Aerospace has an unparalleled record in the rapid fielding of new equipment with U.K. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Available to U.S. customers is the firm's revolutionary, all composite R-MED Series of crew survivability cabs and capsules.
"The R-MED Series is the most technologically advanced and state-of-the-art composite armor technology on the market today," Bray said. "It is light, tough and, most importantly, effective. It increases survivability rate and mission success rate on the battlefield."
The R-MED Series features both add-on crew cab designs in two- and four-man configurations, as well as a unique, structural monocoque six-man capsule. Manufactured using the most advanced composite materials and techniques; the R-MED Series has high levels of ballistic and blast protection, comes with blast attenuating seats and can be outfitted with NP Aerospace's unique CAMAC Armor Systems to meet threat-specific applications.
CAMAC is the firm's unique lightweight, composite armor system which provides multi-hit and multi-threat performance. CAMAC can be applied as appliqué, standalone or structural applications, and is available to fit various platforms such as HMMWV Recap, JLTV, GCV, TAPV, MRAP and others.
