Novi Using Pink Power To Scare Off Bullies

Novi officials are hoping to scare off a few bullies by wearing pink.

School and civic leaders on Wednesday will promote National Bullying Prevention Day by donning pink shirts.

City spokeswoman Sheryl Walsh says the hue commonly known for the fight against breast cancer will be worn to honor a high school freshman in Nova Scotia, Canada, who was bullied in 2007 for wearing a pink shirt.

She said officials hope the gesture will increase awareness among children and educate parents.
