Not Too Cold For Championship Football
DETROIT (WWJ) It's a big day for football both the AFC and NFC championship games are being played in cities where it's just as cold as it is in Detroit. KQV Radio reporter and Pittsburgh native Bob Bartolomeo says they're prepared.
"Well, they have a lot of heaters, you'll see a lot of the heaters along the sidelines. Everybody's just, everything's covered up. You'll see the long jerseys and the gloves, everybody wearing the knit hats underneath the helmets. As far as the fans are concerned, you'll see the scarves."
Bartolomeo says the Steelers and Jets are used to playing in the cold. You can catch that game on CBS TV.
And, with Green Bay playing the Bears in Chicago this afternoon, the cold is nothing new to those teams either.
