Norovirus Settles Into Metro Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ) The Norovirus has been making the rounds lately in metro Detroit -- and you'll know the bug has settled into your system if you begin experiencing stomach pain, vomiting and nausea.
It's not the flu or a cold -- it is the Norovirus.
How do you know you have it?
"A Norovirus tends to stay with you even after you've recovered from your symptoms for at least three days to a week, so you should be washing your hands throughout that period as well, rinsing your fruits and vegetables, cooking your seafood, especially your shellfish, thoroughly, cleaning surfaces and washing laundry," said Vinnie Taneja, the Wayne County Health Department's deputy director.
The CDC recommends avoiding cooking for others and staying home if you have the Norovirus.
