No Timetable For Return Of Lions' Matthew Stafford

Matthew Stafford will not undergo season-ending surgery on his separated right shoulder, and the Detroit Lions have no immediate plans to put him on injured reserve after a visit to Dr. James Andrews, a person with knowledge of his injury said.

Stafford today visited the Birmingham, Ala.-based surgeon for the second time this fall. Andrews recommended that Stafford follow a rehab plan similar to the one he went through when he injured his shoulder for the first time earlier this year. Andrews' evaluation is consistent with the assessment of the Lions' medical staff, the team said in a release.
