No ID Required Says State Regarding Access To Filters, Water In Flint
FLINT (WWJ) - Questions arose about the need for identification to access bottled water and filters for residents struggling to maintain safe drinking water in their Flint homes.
A statement from the Joint Information Center:
Flint residents are encouraged to visit five water resource sites across the city, where they can receive free bottled water, filters, water replacement cartridges and water testing kits.
Identification is not required to receive any of these resources.
The state's goal is to get a water filter in every household, because filters are the best way to provide access to safe drinking water. As part of the distribution process, members of the National Guard at the water resource sites ask residents seeking filters and replacement cartridges to share their address in order to more accurately gather information for long-term recovery efforts.
No resident will be denied resources if an address is not provided.
Water resource sites are open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and are located at:

Water samples can be dropped off at the five water resource sites. Samples will only be accepted by using the official water testing kits provided at the water resource sites and by the water response teams.
