No Charges After New York-Vegas Flight Diverted

ROMULUS (AP) — The FBI says an air traveler won't face criminal charges after his agitated behavior led a JetBlue pilot to divert his New York-to-Las Vegas plane to Detroit.

A cellphone video shows the man shouting and ignoring pleas to calm down Saturday.

Flight 211 from Kennedy International Airport landed at Detroit Metropolitan Airport in Romulus, Michigan, and the man was taken for medical evaluation. The flight continued on to Las Vegas.

FBI spokesman David Porter in Detroit told MLive.com on Monday that the man underwent an examination and was sent home Sunday.

Porter says there was never any threat to the aircraft and says flight attendants quickly handled the situation.
