No Changes Expected For DPS Contracts Under New EFM
DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit Public Schools continue operating under a state appointed emergency manager who unlike his predecessor, Robert Bobb, has the authority to scuttle labor contracts if he sees a need to do so.
Is there any indication that is likely to happen? Not yet, indicates Detroit Federation of Teachers president Keith Johnson.
Johnson tells WWJ that the agreement was negotiated in good faith.
"Contracts already been negotiated. The emergency manager has not yet indicated that he intends to abrogate it in any way, so as far as far I'm concerned right now, we have an agreement that lasts through June 30th of 2012."
