Nine Michigan Firms Joining Automation Alley For Domestic Trade Mission To D.C.

TROY -- Automation Alley, Michigan's largest technology business association, in partnership with the Michigan Economic Development Corp. and Macomb County government, announced today that nine companies from Southeast Michigan will participate in a domestic trade mission to the Association of the United States Army 2012 Annual Meeting & Exposition in Washington, D.C. Oct. 22–24.

"These companies will be representing Southeast Michigan while showcasing their defense-related products, services and technologies to senior military officials, decision makers and industry leaders," said Automation Alley director of international business services Noel Nevshehir. "Providing companies with these kinds of meaningful connections and matchmaking opportunities for business expansion, client diversification and new professional networks is central to Automation Alley's mission, and we fully expect another round of success at this conference."

The following companies, including partners, will attend the AUSA 2012 Annual Meeting & Exposition:

The AUSA Annual Meeting & Exposition is the world's largest land warfare exposition, featuring more than 600 defense exhibitors and 32,000 potential buyers and end users from around the world. Attendees can meet directly with buyers of their products and the key players who can help them successfully expand into the defense industry, including senior military officials and industry leaders from U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC); the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC); and the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology).

The conference – themed "America's Army: Service to the Nation, Strength for the Future" – will feature defense suppliers and other exhibitors, including AM General, BAE, Boeing, GE, General Dynamics, IBM, Lockheed Martin, Navistar and Oshkosh. Participants can exhibit on a cost-share basis, exchange ideas, and attend seminars and special presentations on the Global War on Terrorism, the Army's Transformation to the Future Force, LandWarNet, Expeditionary Logistics, Actionable Intelligence and other issues affecting today's Army.

The AUSA 2012 Annual Meeting & Exposition is Automation Alley's third domestic trade mission. Since 2001, Automation Alley has conducted 15 trade missions to countries across the globe, contributing to the creation or support of 1,044 jobs and $188 million in new contracts garnered for participating companies and regions.
