Next Year's Tigers Might Include Magglio Ordoñez Return

Until Sunday, only two everyday positions on next year's Tigers were known: Miguel Cabrera at first base and Austin Jackson in centerfield.

Before Sunday's season finale, general manager Dave Dombrowski disclosed the club's intentions for several other spots. The Tigers want to keep Brandon Inge at third base and Jhonny Peralta at shortstop; they will make Alex Avila the No. 1 catcher; they will fill second base with their own young players, and Ryan Raburn essentially will have a full-time outfield job.
That leaves two open spots: one in the outfield, another at designated hitter. One of those jobs could go to Magglio Ordoñez, whom the Tigers have interest in re-signing, Dombrowski said.
