New Leads In Search For Woman Missing Since 1990
FOWLERVILLE (WWJ/AP) - Police believe they may have found some potential new leads in one of Michigan's best-known cold cases.
Cadaver dogs searching private property in northern Livingston County have found what police think are human remains, which could be those of Paige Renkoski.
Livingston County Sheriff Bob Bezotte says he's optimistic that the latest developments "will lead to something."
Investigators with dogs were focusing Thursday on private property on Sober Road in Conway Township, about 30 miles east of Lansing. Detectives say their next step is getting permission from the property owner to dig.
The 30-year-old Okemos woman was driving home from Detroit Metropolitan Airport when she disappeared in May 1990. Renkoski's running car was found along the side of I-96 near Fowlerville with her purse and shoes still inside. Police have ruled the case a homicide even though her body hasn't been found.
