New Effort For Small Biz Finance
A Farmington Hills serial entrepreneur is leading a new effort to get business loans for small and midsized companies to boost exports.
The Keating Network, an effort of Howard Keating and business associates, says it's offering loans from $5,000 to $25,000 to qualifying small businesses.
In January, President Obama issued a goal to double U.S. exports within five years, a plan which can offer great growth opportunities for small businesses. One major focus of the plan is increased access to credit for SMEs.
The Keating Network is aligned with the Superior Financial Group -- a federally licensed SBA lender -- to streamline the process for small businesses to obtain these loans.
Small businesses seeking a loan can pre-qualify through the Superior Financial Group's Web site at www.superiorfg.com/success by answering 10 questions.
Approved applicants will be contacted by a loan representative with an update.
Qualifications include -- but are not limited to -- having operated a business for more than one year and will be involved in exporting goods and services.
The loans are behind a government initiative designated to increase exports and will be issued to businesses for exporting purposes or exporting preparation business activities, such as travel, marketing and more.
The Keating Network will provide information and answers to help small business maneuver transactions across borders.
The Keating Network describes itself as a movement to boost the fortunes of America's 50 million small and midsized businesses, which have been hard-hit by the financial crisis.
Keating also plans to establish a small business boosting radio show, becoming the voice of small business.
Keating has been involved with over 25 start-up companies and 16 turnarounds within the national and international business communities. His business experience spans a wide range of industries including research and development, manufacturing, software, broadcasting, electronics,
industrial and residential land development, alternative energy, biotech, health care, remote imaging and venture capital.
Keating has more than 30 years of experience working with federal departments and agencies in Washington D. C. This has led to longstanding relationships with leaders that formulate policies of importance to businesses.
