New Community And Performing Arts Center Set To Open In Southwest Detroit
DETROIT (AP) — A celebration is planned for a new community and performing arts center in southwest Detroit.
A grand opening that will celebrate Mexican culture, music, food and dancing will be held Sunday at Plaza del Sol.
The center will allow local performers and youth to meet, rehearse and produce traditional Mexican dance and Mariachi performances.
Its home is in a once-vacant building that has been renovated with the help of the Detroit International Bridge Co., which operates the Ambassador Bridge that connects Detroit to Windsor, Ontario, in Canada.
