New Book Says Baby Boomer Generation Has Blown It
DETROIT (WWJ) - An area trial attorney has written a book that says the baby boomer generation has blown it.
Fred Lauck's "Children of the Greatest Generation" was published in November.
"I think where we blew it started about in the 80s, I began to see things change, I began to see loyalty and courage and strength - disappearing and in its place I began to see greed, and I began to see the accounting mentality that the bottom line is all that counts," said Lauck.
Lauck, who's almost 70, says when he was young, men without high school educations could get jobs at Ford and make enough money to live quite comfortably.
"These abundant opportunities, I found, that our generation had taken for granted - were bought and paid for by the great sacrifices of the greatest generation, who didn't have those opportunities - and now it appears we may be going right back to where the greatest generation was as opportunity once again disappear," said Lauck.
