New Book Challenges Old Way Of Doing Business
DETROIT (WWJ) As the business world becomes increasingly competitive and global, companies are constantly searching for the best way to evolve and meet their customers needs.
Speaking with WWJ- Author Bill Taylor says Henry Ford Health Systems is one company who's shaking up their industry. In his book "Practically Radical", Taylor said the construction of the new Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital challenged the perception of what a hospital should be.
"Why does it have to look cold and sterile, why can't it look like a northern Michigan vacation lodge, why does the customer service and customer experience have to feel very clinical and medical, why can't it feel more like going to a luxury hotel?" Taylor asks.
Taylor said many people believed the hospital would be too expensive to operate because of the private rooms and other luxury amenities but so far that has not been the case.
Taylor stress the need for organizations to stay abreast of their competitors. Taylor asserts that change is the name of the game; and his book takes us on an inside look at 25 companies that have grown ever more adaptive to not merely survive but thrive in today's challenging environment.
