Neighborhoods Drying Out Following Sunday's Storm
BERKLEY (WWJ) - A neighborhood in Berkley is drying out after being swamped by a brief -- but strong -- thunderstorm Sunday evening.
"If you went down our street, you were taking your -- well, your life or your car, into your own hands -- because it would have been stalling and the water was literally going over the curb," said Larry, who declined to give his last name. "There was a little bit of water in a number of basements, including mine."
City crews came in and cleared the storm drains -- and the water receded.
Neighborhoods in several other communities, including Southfield, were also hard hit by the storms. Power outages were also reported.
