Nebraska Man Wanted For Murder Captured Near Jackson
JACKSON (WWJ) - A Nebraska man wanted for murder has been captured after a police chase near Jackson.
The sheriff's department said 46-year-old Craig Johnson was stopped for a traffic violation along I-94 in Grass Lake Township, but when the deputy approached the car, Johnson sped off.
The ten minute police chase on both the eastbound and westbound lanes of the freeway ended after State Police put stop sticks in the road and flattened the tires. Johnson eventually pulled over and was placed under arrest without further resistance.
An investigation shows Johnson, a Nebraska resident, was driving a stolen car and was wanted for killing a 42-year-old woman in Nebraska on Monday.
Johnson is currently being held at the Jackson County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Cheyenne County, Nebraska.
