When the Detroit Lions and New England Patriots meet Thursday, Detroit defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh will be trying to put a hurt on Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Off the field, though, Suh thinks Brady is pretty cool.
"Me and Tom, I've been fortunate enough to come across his path many times on the field and off the field," Suh said. "He's a good dude. He's a real tough competitor. Just a classy dude all around. I respect him."
Of course, tackling that classy dude is a nice feather in Suh's cap.
"Any time you can take a future Hall of Famer down, it's always some fun," Suh added.
Suh addressed the remarks of another opposing quarterback this weekend - Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers. Rodgers said the Lions' defensive tackles - Suh and Nick Fairley - are a concern for him.
"It's a good start, but it's not enough because I want him to be coming back to you the next time you ask the question and say, 'When I face Suh, what do I have to do? I have to worry about him getting in my face every single play,'" Suh said. "That's going to be one of our goals, not only for him when we play them twice a year every year, but for everybody."
The Lions play the Packers in Green Bay Oct. 6 and at home Nov. 28. Detroit plays New England Thursday in the third preseason game of the year.
