Native Detroiter Scores Big On Broadway
DETROIT (WWJ) - A veteran of stage and television, a Michigan native takes a bite out of the Big Apple.
Angelina Fiordelisi's road to Broadway started in Warren, the daughter of Italian immigrants, she began dance lesson at an early age.
"For my first recital, there were my parents, there were about three people there, I was so nervous I peed my pants," said Fiordelisi.
Things could only improve from there Fiordelisi said. "Lo and behold after I graduated there was a show that came into town, an equity show, and they were looking for replacements. I went and auditioned and I got hired," she said.
Fiordelisi earned a valued Equity Card and has since graced the stages in New York as well as movies and television.
The Tony Award winning Fiordelisi still can't believe her good fortune.
"That's what I kept saying to all my friends and relatives who were texting me or emailing me. I said pinch me, pinch me," she said.
A producer for the critically acclaimed "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" Fiordelisi is currently the Artistic Director of the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York City.
