National Employ Older Workers Week
National Employ Older Workers Week kicked off Sunday and runs through Saturday, September 25.
If you're age 55 or older and in need a job, this could be the perfect time to start looking for work.
In recognition of National Employ Older Workers Week, state officials are encouraging employers to support opportunities to provide jobs for older workers.
Sharon Gire, director of the Michigan Office of Services to the Aging, says older workers are particularly valuable because of their skills, dependability and strong work ethic. And, statistics show that older workers invest their earnings back into the marketplace.
