NASCAR Fans Rush To Tire Test Day
BROOKLYN (WWJ) - NASCAR fans caught a free glimpse of their favorite drivers on Tire Test Day Monday at Michigan International Speedway.
More than 20 teams broke in the new, faster track as they prepare for the upcoming Pure Michigan 400 in Brooklyn.
Donna Nance, who moved to Michigan from North Carolina, was excited to come check it out.
"I've been to the Charlotte track and all the other ones, but I'm trying to make it to all of them if I can," Nance said. "I just can't wait to get in there."
Davison resident Don Best said Test Day brings a unique group of people together, much like a NASCAR race would.
"That's the beauty of NASCAR, you see all walks of life -- people that pick up pop cans to get here, and people that drive half-million- dollar motor homes," Best said. "That's the fun part of it."
The Pure Michigan 400 will be held August 19, and will be the finale of the 2012 Sprint Cup Series. For tickets and more information, visit this link.
