N.C. Firm Gets $55M Deal To Refurbish West Michigan Power Plant
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Babcock & Wilcox Co. (NYSE:BWC) Monday announced that its subsidiary Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group Inc. has been awarded contracts valued at approximately $55 million to design and supply environmental control equipment and design and engineer a boiler economizer for Consumers Energy's J.H. Campbell Generating Complex near West Olive.
B&W will supply four spray dry absorber systems to control sulfur dioxide emissions for the 835 megawatt Campbell Unit 3. B&W also will supply a lime preparation system, ash handling systems and a B&W V-Temp economizer for the plant.
The Campbell projects are the most recent in a series of projects B&W is performing for Consumers Energy. Previously announced contracts include an environmental upgrade at Consumers Energy's D.E. Karn plant in Michigan, a construction project at the Campbell plant, and the design and construction of a selective catalytic reduction system for the Campbell plant.
