Muslim Group Urges People Not To Rush To Judgment
DEARBORN (WWJ) - American Muslim organizations are condemning the Boston Marathon bombings and urging Americans of all faiths to join them in praying for the victims and their families.
CAIR spokesman Dawud Walid told WWJ Newsradio 950 it's unfortunate that Muslims are often instantly considered suspects in such attacks.
"We shouldn't rush to judgment in regards to this horrific attack - we don't know who did it, irrespective of who did it, there is not religion that sanctions wanton violence against innocent people," he said.
"Whoever is behind it should be brought to justice quickly and meet the severest punishment under our American judicial system," Walid said.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) also is asking American Muslims to offer authorities any leads they may have to help capture the perpetrators of Monday's blasts.
