Music Is The Cure For Singer-Songwriter With Tourette Syndrome
HAMTRAMCK (WWJ) - Detroit singer-song writer Danny D has released a new album. The Hamtramck native has played with greats such as the Who's Roger Daltrey and has opened up for legends like Mitch Ryder and David Lee Roth.
Throughout his career DannyD has used music as a way to combat the symptoms of Tourette Syndrome.
"I started making noises when I was in second grade, and as time went on ... when I was a teen, formed a band, hit the stage and my whole concept of who I was and being an entertainer just focused on that and the Tourettes just kind of went away," said DannyD.
"The album was supposed to be a one song deal and it turned into a two, then four, then six ... the song we intended on recording in the first place never made the record," he said.
DannyD describes his new album, "Last Call" as a mix of Country and Americana. The songs were created with former Rod Stewart guitarist Paul Warren.
