Multi-Car Rollover Kills One, Injures Two

OTTER LAKE (WWJ) - Officials from the Lapeer County Sheriff's Office say one person was killed and two were injured during a multi-car rollover accident in Otter Lake.

Investigators say 61-year-old Nancy Owens was traveling south on North Lake Road just after 9 p.m. Tuesday when she failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection. Owens' car was broadsided by a vehicle driven by 44-year-old William Gorsuch.

Both vehicles departed the roadway and overturned when traveling down an embankment before coming to a rest at the edge of a field.

Owens was pronounced dead at the scene. Gorsuch was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. A 25-year-old passenger in Gorsuch's vehicle was treated for minor injures at a local hospital before being released.

Police do not believe speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
