MSU's Appling Made Most Of Space To Shoot

EAST LANSING (AP) — Michigan State has a wish list of sorts when it comes to their NCAA tournament game against Louisville on Thursday night.
Coach Tom Izzo is hoping Louisville dares Keith Appling to shoot in their West Regional semifinal showdown.
The Spartans guard says Saint Louis disrespected his jump shot over the weekend, backing off several feet from him when he had the ball. He made a big-time shot when his team needed it most, connecting on a 3-pointer with 1:34 left in the four-point win.
The 6-foot-1 Appling was a scoring sensation in high school. But this season, he is making fewer than one-fourth of his 3-pointers after connecting on 41 percent last year as a freshman.
