MSU Poll Shows Improved Confidence In Economy
It looks like Michigan residents these days are feeling a little better about the future of their state.
WWJ Lansing Bureau Chief Tim Skubick reports that a new Michigan State University survey shows 56 percent of Michiganders are not feeling so hot about how their financial situation is going right now.
However, a majority believe things are looking up. This is according fall survey of 1,000 Michigan adults by MSU's the Institute for Public Policy and Social Research.
"Fifty-seven percent say they think they're going to be better off one year from now than they are today. That's substantially better than the fraction who say that they're better off now than they were a year," said MSU's Dr. Charles Ballard.
"(Confidence in the economy) has rebounded very strongly. And, in fact, this is the highest that it's been since 2005. So, we've had a real resurgence as the economy has finally come out of its free-fall and began to inch forward," Ballard said.
