Mount Clemens Hosts New Year's Eve Extravaganza
MOUNT CLEMENS (CBS Detroit) – The whole family is invited to Downtown Mount Clemens on Monday, Dec. 31, for the city's annual New Year's Eve extravaganza.
The New Year's Eve Gala takes place in the heart of historic Downtown Mount Clemens, on Main Street at New Street, directly across from Macomb County's court parking structure.
An early start allows the entire family to celebrate together, and afterward, adults have ample time to drop off little ones with a babysitter and come back for a midnight fireworks show.
For this year's event, there will be more entertainment programming and activities for gala-goers. Children's activities include Magic Shows, Thomas the Train Rides, Unicorn Pony Rides and Petting Zoo, Crafts, Story Time and last but not least, a Meet & Greet with characters including Cinderella, Shrek, Dora the Explorer, and others. The Children's New Year's Eve in Never Never Land runs from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m.
At 10 p.m., the New Year's Eve Gala will begin their live entertainment where singers will begin warming up the crowd and public karaoke will be follow. Local blues-rock band Eastside Westside takes the stage at 10:45 p.m. At 11:55 p.m., one lucky person will have their name drawn as the winner of the Save the New Year's Eve Fireworks 50/50 Raffle. The jackpot is expected to exceed $4,000. What a great way to start the New Year, having your name drawn before thousands, and wining the big prize.
The fireworks will be the grand finale of the night, which will start at midnight on New Year's Day.
