Motorcyclist Fights For Life After Crash On I-94 Ramp
OAK PARK (WWJ) - An accident on the ramp from eastbound I-94 to I-96 has left a motorcyclist fighting for his life.
Michigan State Police say the crash occurred just after 9 p.m. on Tuesday, when the driver of a Harley Davidson lost control of his motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet, according to police.
The motorcyclist, a male in his 50's from Macomb Township, was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. His name has not been released because his family has yet to be notified.
Police aren't sure if alcohol, drugs or speed were factors in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
State Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact them at 248-584-5740.
The freeway ramp was closed for about 10 hours while police performed a crash reconstruction, but has since reopened.
