Motorcycle Passenger Killed In Crash
WATERFORD (WWJ) - Waterford police are investigating an accident between a motorcycle and car that has left one person dead.
The accident happened around 10:30 Saturday night on Pontiac Lake Road near Irwindale, just west of M-59.
Waterford Police say a preliminary investigation of the crash leads them to believe the motorcycle, operated by a 54-year-old Canton Township resident, crossed the center line and crashed into an oncoming vehicle.
Police say a 43-year-old Farmington Hills woman, who was riding as a passenger on the motorcycle, was killed in the crash.
The Canton Twp. man was taken to the hospital for treatment. The driver of the other vehicle was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Police do not suspect alcohol was a factor in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
