Motorcycle Officer Remains Critical After Crash
The Detroit Police Department says one of its motorcycle officers remains in critical condition, four days after a U.S. Postal Service truck struck her.
Officer Sonya Justice was hurt Monday afternoon in downtown Detroit and was listed in critical condition Thursday at Detroit Receiving Hospital.
Police spokeswoman Sgt. Eren Stephens tells The Detroit News the motorbike and truck collided head-on, and says the truck's driver appears to be at fault.
WDIV-TV has said that a witness called 911 but was placed on hold, so instead used the injured officer's radio to call for help, which then arrived quickly.
