Mother IDs Pregnant Woman Fatally Shot In Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - A woman has identified her daughter as the 23-year-old pregnant woman who was fatally shot in an attack outside a Detroit house that left a man dead and another critically wounded.
Sharon Shaltry told the Detroit Free Press her daughter Taeler Shaltry was killed Sunday outside the home near Joy and West Chicago on the city's west side.
Taeler Shaltry's baby was delivered by cesarean section and was in critical condition at Henry Ford Hospital. According to reports, the baby was taken off life support Friday after it was determined she is nearly brain-dead.
Wayne County Medical Examiner's spokeswoman Mary Mazur said Thursday that 25-year-old Brandon Webb died of multiple gunshot wounds. Taeler Shaltry died of a head wound.
A 75-year-old man was critically wounded in the attack was identified by family members as Bertram Rutledge.
According to police, the gunman first shot Webb, then shot the other two when they came out of the house.
Police say they've made no arrests and don't know the motive for the attack.
Police are looking for a 2006 Pontiac G6 , silver or gray in color with a Michigan license plate "CLB 3064" and has blue tape across the back of it. The suspect is described as a young man in his early 20's.
