Severe Thunderstorm Watch Until Midnight
DETROIT (WWJ) - More severe storms may be rolling through Metro Detroit. The National Weather Service has issues a severe thunderstorm watch, in effect for all of Michigan until midnight, Tuesday.
WWJ TV Chief Meteorologist Jim Madaus says a cold front situated just east of the central plains will be moving toward us Tuesday night and could bring with it some severe weather.
The National Weather Service predicts thunderstorms aren't likely to hit Southeast Michigan until Tuesday evening. Damaging winds in excess of 70 mph are the primary concern. However, forecasters say the strongest storms will also be capable of producing large-size hail.
Meantime, a Heat Advisory remains in effect for southeast Michigan until 8 p.m. Tuesday, with temps expected to reach 90 degrees. (More on this).
