Monroe Police Arrest 2 In June Bludgeoning Death
MONROE (AP) - Monroe police say they've arrested two men in the June bludgeoning death of a 30-year-old resident of the southeastern Michigan city.
Police tell the Monroe Evening News that Roman Jackson was involved in a fight June 10 when he was hit in the head with a n object and died.
Police say they arrested 38-year-old Zimmerman Pippens and 45-year-old Kevin Oliver on murder charges.
Pippens was arraigned Friday and is being held without bond. Oliver was arrested Sunday in Toledo, Ohio, and was arraigned Monday.
Both are charged with an open count of murder as well as manslaughter. Their next court appearance is scheduled Friday, and their preliminary examination is set for Nov. 6.
Neither defendant had a lawyer of record on Monday.
