Monroe Man Dies In Early Morning Crash
LASALLE TWP. (WWJ) - Police say a 23-year-old Monroe man was killed when his car rolled over early Saturday morning.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said the accident happened around 2:21 a.m. on S. Dixie Highway, north of Stein Road, in LaSalle Township.
Police say a vehicle driven by Justin E. Bodenschatz II apparently traveled off the west side of the roadway, where it struck a utility pole and overturned one time before coming to rest its roof.
Bodenschatz, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital in Toledo, Ohio where he died.
Police say Bodenschatz was wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash, although it's not clear what caused him to lose control of the vehicle.
An investigation is ongoing.
