Mom And Daughter Hospitalized After Apparent Drive-By Shooting
DETROIT (WWJ) - A double shooting on Detroit's east side leaves a mother and daughter hospitalized. Police say the two were inside their home on Young Street near Houston-Whittier and Chalmers, when someone driving by, opened fire on the house.
A neighbor says the victim's husband is out-of-town, on a construction project:
"I just pray and hope everything comes out alright, and it ain't nothing bad, because they were so sweet. Especially her momma, she is so sweet and kind-hearted. She would help you, all of her young boys got respect for me," said the neighbor.
"It's been too much stuff going on in this area the last four weeks, it's time for this to come to an end, we are losing too many of our young, innocent people," she said.
Police are searching for the shooter(s). The is no word yet on the condition of the mother and daughter.
