Model A Stolen From Outside Henry Ford Museum Is Recovered
DEARBORN (WWJ) - Police say they've recovered a California man's 1930 Model-A that was stolen from a parking lot near Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn.
Dearborn Police say the trailer containing the classic Ford Roadster was found in an industrial area in Detroit near Mt. Elliot and Gratiot.
"It was a pleasure for us to be able to call the car's owner in California to let him know that his classic piece of Ford history was recovered by our Special Operations crew. Needless to say, he was elated. The hard work that our surveillance officers as well as our detectives put into this case can not be overstated," Chief Ronald Haddad said in a statement.
The vintage Model A is yellow with black and chrome fenders and a brown convertible top. It was taken June 26 along with the trailer and a Ford pickup hauling it.
Police said Wednesday they still are looking for the stolen 2001 F-250 truck. Police describe the truck as having California license plate 6P95642, a white top with gold on bottom, NASCAR license plate rim and a small NASCAR sticker in rear window.
